My Stream of Consciousness: My Trip to Seattle

Wow. Haven't posted in a long time. Sorry.

My trip to Seattle was a lot of fun. It was the perfect length of time, and it was both exciting and relaxing. I didn't do too much sitting around--pretty much every day we were doing something new or going somewhere. But just being able to sleep in and not have to worry about normal responsibilities was enough for me to relax for a bit.

One of my cousins (not blood related but we grew up together and went on family vacations) moved out to Seattle and works for the Mariner's organization. So his sister, Melissa, and I decided over the summer to fly out and see him. I haven't seen him since we were both in high school.
Got up and flew out of JFK realllly early Thursday morning. Seattle's airport is really small for an international airport. Took the light rail to Safeco Field and met up with Mike. Got the key to his place then took the bus downtown.
Seattle's a nice city. I know I shouldn't compare every place to New York because that's just not fair, but it was weird being in a big city and not be completely smothered by other people. I would actually consider moving out there but believe it or not, it's even more expensive than NY. 9.5% sales tax?! No thanks.
Thursday & Friday Mike had work so Melissa and I pretty much just ventured around the city and took in the sights. We went to the top of the Space Needle which was pretty awesome. We also walked over to Pike Place Market which is a really sweet place. Except there's a wall of gum. Yeah. Gross.

On Saturday we drove up to Vancouver and I met one of my good friends that I've known for 10+ years now. Got to have authentic poutine and Tim Horton's! So delicious.

Sunday was pretty much a stay in and chill kinda day. Caught up on Walking Dead and packed my bags. Flew home Monday afternoon.
Overall my trip was pretty great. It came at a great time and it was exactly what I needed.
